Muthoot Finance is India's largest gold-loan NBFC, lending against household gold jewellery through an extensive branch network concentrated in South India but expanding nationally. Gold loans form the overwhelming majority of AUM, complemented by subsidiaries in microfinance (Belstar), housing finance, insurance broking and a Sri Lankan lending arm. Earnings are driven by gold-loan AUM growth, yields and gold-price-linked loan-to-value dynamics, with strong asset-backed credit quality through cycles.
It is the largest gold-financing company in India by AUM and branch network, ahead of Manappuram Finance.
