It is a leading producer of coal tar pitch (used in aluminium smelting and graphite electrodes), carbon black for tyres and rubber, and downstream specialty products including advanced carbon materials; it has been investing in lithium-ion battery materials such as LFP cathode active material and anode materials. Revenue is driven by coal tar pitch and carbon black volumes, with battery chemistry positioned as the growth vector.

It is India's largest coal tar pitch producer.
