Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) is a standalone refiner and subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation, operating the Manali refinery near Chennai with capacity of roughly 10.5 million tonnes per annum. It produces the full slate of fuels (petrol, diesel, ATF, LPG) plus lube base oils and petrochemical feedstocks, with most output marketed through parent IOC. Earnings are driven by gross refining margins and crude-product spreads rather than retail fuel marketing.
It is one of South India's key refiners and IOC's main refining arm in the region, with a JV expansion refinery planned at Nagapattinam.
