What Axis Bank does

Axis Bank is India's third-largest private sector bank, offering retail banking (mortgages, personal loans, cards, deposits), corporate and SME lending, transaction banking and treasury services. It acquired Citibank's India consumer business in 2023, strengthening its premium cards and wealth franchise, and owns subsidiaries including Axis AMC, Axis Capital (investment banking), Axis Securities and Axis Finance. Earnings are driven by net interest margin on its loan book, fee income from cards/wealth, and credit costs.

India's third-largest private sector bank by assets.
