What Punjab National Bank does

Punjab National Bank is a public-sector bank offering retail, agriculture, MSME and corporate banking, with a large deposit franchise across north and east India. It absorbed Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India in the 2020 PSU bank mergers, and also holds stakes in listed subsidiaries/associates including PNB Housing Finance and PNB Gilts. Revenue is driven by net interest income on its loan book plus fee and treasury income.

It is the second-largest public-sector bank in India by business size after State Bank of India.
