Power Grid Corporation of India is the state-owned central transmission utility, owning and operating the bulk of India's inter-state power transmission network of extra-high-voltage lines and substations. Revenue is regulated, earned as transmission charges on a cost-plus/regulated return model, giving highly stable annuity-like cash flows; it also has telecom (fibre on transmission towers) and consultancy businesses and competes for new lines under tariff-based competitive bidding.
It is India's largest power transmission company, carrying roughly half of the country's generated power on its network.
