National Aluminium Company (NALCO) is a government-owned integrated aluminium producer operating bauxite mines at Panchpatmali (Odisha), a large alumina refinery at Damanjodi, an aluminium smelter at Angul and captive power plants. It sells both alumina (a large export earner where it is among the world's lowest-cost producers) and primary aluminium ingots/billets/wire rods. Earnings are highly cyclical to LME aluminium and global alumina prices, with cost advantages from captive bauxite.
