Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, a Gujarat state PSU, is primarily a lignite miner supplying fuel to industrial and power customers in Gujarat from mines such as Panandhro, Mata no Madh and Tadkeshwar. It also mines bauxite and other minerals and operates a lignite-based thermal power plant and some renewable capacity. Lignite volumes and realisations against imported-coal parity drive earnings; new lignite blocks and rare-earth-linked exploration are its expansion themes.
