Hindustan Copper is a Government of India PSU and the country's only miner of copper ore, operating mines in Rajasthan (Khetri), Jharkhand (Ghatsila) and Madhya Pradesh (Malanjkhand, its largest), selling copper concentrate and some refined products. With smelting largely curtailed, it operates mainly as a merchant concentrate producer and is executing a multi-year mine expansion plan to raise ore output. Copper prices and mine ramp-up drive earnings; it holds strategic value given India's copper import dependence.
India's only vertically integrated copper ore mining company.
