PTC India is a power trading company that buys and sells electricity between generators, distribution utilities and exchanges — short-term and long-term trades plus cross-border trading with Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. Trading margins are thin and regulated, so profitability is volume-driven. It also holds a stake in listed lender PTC India Financial Services (PFS), which has faced governance issues, and stakes in energy ventures.
It is India's largest power trading company by traded volumes.
