MOIL is a government-owned miner and India's largest producer of manganese ore, operating around a dozen mines in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. It produces various grades of manganese ore used mainly by ferroalloy and steel producers, and also manufactures ferro manganese and electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD) in smaller volumes. Revenue is driven by manganese ore volumes and prices, which it benchmarks and revises periodically; steel-sector demand is the key end-market driver.
It accounts for roughly half of India's domestic manganese ore production.
