International Gemological Institute (India) is the Indian-listed business of IGI, a global certification and accreditation provider for diamonds, gemstones and jewellery. It earns fees for grading and certifying natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, studded jewellery and coloured stones, and also runs gemology education. Listed in December 2024 with Blackstone as the controlling shareholder, its growth is tied to lab-grown diamond certification volumes, where it has particular strength.
It is one of the world's largest independent certification bodies for diamonds and jewellery, with a leading share in lab-grown diamond certification.
