What Whirlpool of India does

Indian subsidiary of US appliance maker Whirlpool Corporation, manufacturing and selling refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, microwaves, dishwashers and small kitchen appliances under the Whirlpool brand; also holds Elica PB India (kitchen hoods/hobs). Manufactures refrigerators and washers at plants in Faridabad, Pune and Puducherry. Revenue is driven by refrigerator and washing machine demand; the US parent has been reducing its majority stake while retaining control.

A top-three player historically in Indian refrigerators and a significant washing machine brand, though it has lost share to Korean and domestic rivals.
