Sun TV Network is a South Indian broadcaster operating leading television channels across Tamil (flagship Sun TV), Telugu (Gemini), Kannada (Udaya) and Malayalam (Surya) markets, monetized through advertising and subscription revenue including strong distribution economics. It also owns the Sun Direct DTH platform, produces movies (Sun Pictures) and owns the Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL franchise (and an SA20 team). Ad revenue tracks regional consumption; subscription and IPL provide steadier streams.
It is the dominant television broadcaster in South India, particularly in Tamil Nadu.
