Saregama India (an RP-Sanjiv Goenka group company, formerly The Gramophone Company of India/HMV) owns one of India's largest music IP catalogues spanning decades of film and non-film recordings across languages, monetized through licensing to streaming platforms (Spotify, YouTube etc.), broadcast and films. It also sells the Carvaan pre-loaded digital audio player, produces films/series under Yoodlee, and acquires new music rights aggressively; licensing is the high-margin core.
It owns among the largest and oldest Indian music catalogues, giving it pricing power in music licensing.
