What Indian Bank does

Indian Bank is a Chennai-headquartered public sector bank that absorbed Allahabad Bank in the 2020 PSU bank mergers. It offers retail, agriculture, MSME and corporate banking through a nationwide branch network, with strength in South and East India. Revenue is driven by net interest income on its RAM (retail-agri-MSME) oriented book plus treasury income; it has been among the better-performing PSU banks on asset quality and return ratios post-merger.

It is one of India's larger public sector banks by business size, typically ranked among the top six or seven PSBs.
