What India Cements does

India Cements is a cement producer with manufacturing capacity concentrated in South India (Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh), selling cement under brands including Sankar and Coromandel. After years of weak profitability and high leverage, the promoter stake was sold to UltraTech Cement, which acquired control in 2024, making it part of the Aditya Birla group's cement consolidation. Revenue is driven by cement volumes and southern-region pricing.

It is a significant South India cement capacity holder, now a subsidiary of UltraTech.
