CRISIL is a ratings, research and analytics company majority-owned by S&P Global. Its ratings business is one of India's two leading credit rating agencies for bonds and bank loans; its larger research and analytics arms (including Global Research & Risk Solutions and Coalition Greenwich) serve global investment banks and corporates with benchmarking, risk and research services. Revenue mix is skewed toward research/analytics, while ratings carries the strongest margins and franchise value.
It is India's most valuable listed rating agency and a top-two player in domestic credit ratings alongside ICRA and CARE.
